Apunix's monochrome/gray scale scanners offer both 8-bit (256-level grayscale) and 1-bit (binary or halftone) scan modes. Our models feature a wide variety of image processing options. In 1-bit mode, optional halftoning can be done using either built-in or downloadable halftone dither patterns or using an error diffusion algorithm. In binary mode, bold-lining, edge extraction, speckle remove, and MTF (Modulation Transfer Function) filters are available as well as control over the binary threshold setting. In 8-bit mode, the scanner features adjustable contrast, brightness, and gamma curve settings. Both modes feature image reversal and image mirroring filters. Some models include built-in automatic document feeders for high speed scanning while others have optional document feeders. All scanners come with Apunix's OpenScan(TM) software package.
